In this guide, we’ll show you how to create an iron hoe. What you’ll need:
Step 1 – Gather logs
Collect a few logs by punching out a tree (any kind of tree will do).
Step 2 – Create planks
Using a crafting table, place the logs in any single cell of the grid to create planks in the output box.
Step 3 – Create sticks
Now, place two planks in the center column of the crafting grid, one in each of the bottom and middle cells of your crafting table to create sticks.
(You can look at your numpad, if you have one, and the placement on the crafting grid would correspond to the “2” and “5” keys, which we can refer to as cell 2 and cell 5.)
Step 4 – Mine some iron
0:26 – Using a stone pickaxe, mine one piece of iron ore. You can generally find iron in caves or mines.
Step 5 – Smelt the iron
0:31 – Place the iron in your furnace to smelt it into iron ingots. You can use the logs you gathered as fuel.
Step 5 – Place the sticks
0:46 – Then place two sticks in the center column of the crafting grid, one in each of the bottom and middle cells of your crafting table.
(These would be cells 2 and 5.)
Step 6 – Place the iron ingots
0:52 – Now, place an iron ingot in the top-middle and top-right cells of the crafting grid.
(These would be cells 8 and 9.)
Step 7 (Optional) – Drink some milk
Now that you’ve finished crafting, you can sit down and relax a bit.
Go on. Pull up a chair, get some milk, and put your feet up. With your new iron hoe, you’ll now be able to till the land faster than you have before. Think of all the farmland you’ll be able to make. All the work you’ll be able to do.
