Hoes have different durability values depending on the material used to craft them.
Wooden Hoe | 59 Durability |
Stone Hoe | 131 Durability |
Iron Hoe | 250 Durability |
Golden Hoe | 32 Durability |
Diamond Hoe | 1561 Durability |
Netherite Hoe | 2031 Durability |
In this guide, we’ll show you how to create a golden hoe. What you’ll need:
- A crafting table.
- A furnace.
- Two sticks.
- An iron pickaxe.
- Two gold ingots.
Step 1 – Gather logs
Collect a few logs by punching out a tree (any kind of tree will do).

Step 2 – Create planks
Using a crafting table, place the logs in any single cell of the grid to create planks in the output box.

Step 3 – Create sticks
Now, place two planks in the center column of the crafting grid, one in each of the bottom and middle cells of your crafting table to create sticks.
(You can look at your numpad, if you have one, and the placement on the crafting grid would correspond to the “2” and “5” keys, which we can refer to as cell 2 and cell 5.)

Step 4 – Mine some gold
0:25 – Using an iron pickaxe, mine two pieces of gold ore. You can generally find gold in caves or mines.

Step 5 – Smelt the gold
0:35 – Place the gold in your furnace to smelt it into gold ingots. You can use the logs you gathered as fuel.

Step 6 – Place the sticks
0:49 – Then place two sticks in the center column of the crafting grid, one in each of the bottom and middle cells of your crafting table.
(These would be cells 2 and 5.)

Step 7 – Place the gold ingots
0:63 – Now, place a gold ingot in the top-middle and top-right cells of the crafting grid.
(These would be cells 8 and 9.)

Step 8 (Optional) – Admire your new hoe
A golden hoe. You are now holding in your hands the fastest hoe ever built. This thing harvests blocks faster than any other hoe out there, including netherite.
Which is a good thing since it’s also the least durable hoe out there.

You can’t have everything though, right?
