Iron axe | +5 attack damage |
Diamond axe | +6 attack damage |
Netherite axe | +7 attack damage |
In this guide, we show you how to create a wooden axe.
Step 1 – Get some logs
0:05 – Collect a few logs by punching out a tree (any kind of tree will do).

Step 2 – Create planks
0:32 – Using a crafting table, place the logs in any single cell of the grid to create planks in the output box.

Step 3 – Create two sticks
0:38 – Place two planks cells 2 and 5 (the center column of the crafting grid, one each in the bottom and middle cells) to convert them into sticks.
Note: The numbers in your keyboard numpad are the same as the crafting grid, so “2” and “5” on the numpad are cells 2 and 5 in the crafting grid.

Step 4 – Create your wooden axe
0:45 – In the crafting grid:
- Place sticks in cells 2, 5
- Place planks in cells 8, 9, 6
This creates a wooden axe in the output box.

There you have it!
