Minecraft Wooden axe – Crafting guide

Axes do attack damage based on the material used to craft them.

Wooden axe+3 attack damage
Golden axe+3 attack damage
Stone axe+4 attack damage
Iron axe+5 attack damage
Diamond axe+6 attack damage
Netherite axe+7 attack damage

In this guide, we show you how to create a wooden axe.

Step 1 – Get some logs

0:05 – Collect a few logs by punching out a tree (any kind of tree will do).

Chop-chop!

Step 2 – Create planks

0:32 – Using a crafting table, place the logs in any single cell of the grid to create planks in the output box.

Like so.

Step 3 – Create two sticks

0:38 – Place two planks cells 2 and 5 (the center column of the crafting grid, one each in the bottom and middle cells) to convert them into sticks.

Note: The numbers in your keyboard numpad are the same as the crafting grid, so “2” and “5” on the numpad are cells 2 and 5 in the crafting grid.

Creating sticks.

Step 4 – Create your wooden axe

0:45 – In the crafting grid:

  • Place sticks in cells 2, 5
  • Place planks in cells 8, 9, 6

This creates a wooden axe in the output box.

Voila!

There you have it!

You successfully created your brand new wooden axe. Use it to chop trees faster 🙂

Also create a wooden pickaxe to mine stone faster so you can create a furnace!
