In this guide, we show you how to create a stone shovel using:
- Crafting table
- Two sticks
- One cobblestone
Step 1 – Gather logs
Collect a few logs by punching out a tree (any kind of tree will do).
Step 2 – Create planks
Using a crafting table, place the logs in any single cell of the grid to create planks in the output box.
Step 3 – Create sticks
Now, place two planks in the center column of the crafting grid, one in each of the bottom and middle cells of your crafting table to create sticks.
(You can look at your numpad, if you have one, and the placement on the crafting grid would correspond to the “2” and “5” keys, which we can refer to as cell 2 and cell 5.)
Step 4 – Mine some stone
0:23 – Using a pickaxe, mine just one piece of cobblestone. You can find stone almost anywhere, but they are most common in caves or mines.
Step 5 – Place the sticks
0:32 – Then place two sticks in the center column of the crafting grid, one in each of the bottom and middle cells of your crafting table.
(These are cells 2 and 5)
Step 6 – Place the cobblestone
0:36 – Now, place a cobblestone in the top-middle cell of the crafting grid.
(This is cell 8)
Step 7 (Optional) – Use your wooden shovel as fuel
Protip: you can actually use your wooden shovel as fuel for your furnace. Go on. Chuck it in there.
You don’t need the wooden shovel anymore since you have your brand-spanking-new stone shovel!
Out with the old, in with the new 🙂
Now, get to work. Them holes aren’t gonna dig themselves.
