In this guide, we’ll show you how to create a stone hoe using:
- A crafting table.
- Two sticks.
- Two cobblestones.
Step 1 – Gather logs
Collect a few logs by punching out a tree (any kind of tree will do).

Step 2 – Create planks
Using a crafting table, place the logs in any single cell of the grid to create planks in the output box.

Step 3 – Create sticks
Now, place two planks in the center column of the crafting grid, one in each of the bottom and middle cells of your crafting table to create sticks.
(You can look at your numpad, if you have one, and the placement on the crafting grid would correspond to the “2” and “5” keys, which we can refer to as cell 2 and cell 5.)

Step 4 – Mine some stone
0:25 – Using a pickaxe, mine three pieces of cobblestone. You can find stone almost anywhere, but they are most common in caves or mines.

Step 5 – Place the sticks
0:32 – Then place two sticks in the center column of the crafting grid, one in each of the bottom and middle cells of your crafting table.
(These would be cells 2 and 5.)

Step 6 – Place the cobblestones
0:38 – Now, place a cobblestone in the top-middle, and top-right cells of the crafting grid.
(These would be cells 8 and 9.)

Step 7 (Optional) – Hoe guitar
Grab your newly-minted stone hoe and pretend to play it like an electric guitar in celebration.
What? What kind of music, you say? Rock music, of course! It’s a stone hoe, isn’t it? Hah!

I’ll see myself out.
